There are many ways to send SMS with the Z2i platform. Mostly used is to enter the online account and send the SMS manually from the web page.

Now you can benefit from more ways to integrate and send SMS automatically with your system. The most common way to have a fully integrated system is to use the Z2i API, (Application Programming Interface). But you can now also use email and Excel/CSV files to send your SMS.

The API works as a simple HTTP call to a URL on our server with the parameters as POST variables, the Z2i system authenticates the calling system and reads the parameters. If everything vailidates fine the SMS are sent.

The email 2 SMS works is eaven simpler to use, you send an email to our server with the SMS text and authentication info. The email is validated and the text is converted to SMS and sent to the destination.

Now we also support sending of SMS from a file, Excel or CSV. The data can be as simple as just the phone numbers, concist of the complete SMS text or variables to fill out a SMS template. The latter can be succesfully used with CRM systems or when data is extracted from a database and have to be fitted into personalized messages.

SMS templates are created in the backend and variables are added as tags representing the excel sheet column names. When the excel file is uploaded and processed the data in the columns are processed for each row and substituted for the tags to create the personalized SMS.

Success with political promotion by SMS

Our Chilean partner and reseller Txt2cel.com acheived greate success using the Z2i.com SMS platform to help promote the Senator Juan Antonio Coloma to win the precidency of the Chilean party UDI (Chiles largest political party). The result was so succesful that it made news in the Chilean newspaper:

"I just left the UDI (the most popular political party in Chile national headquarters) after sending the first politically motivated bulk sms in this countries history. The senator who contracted the service to send a message to his potential voters & collegues just called to inform me that he was giving a speech during lunch to 40 other Chilean senators, deputies, & representatives (who happend to be copied on the bulk send) when the message arrived.

According to the senator, the sms asking his collegues & registered voters to vote for him during the upcoming presidential party elections could not have arrived at a better time. The senator told me that the arrival of the massive sms that was received during his speech sounded "horrific" due to so many phones sound off at once. Thinking it was an error, all began to pick up look at their phones & read the message that was sent via sms. As laughter started to breakout, the senator who was responsible for the message said, "thank you" & sat down!"

On the election next Saturday, senator Coloma won the election for president of "La UDI"
